DISCERNING THE CALL TO ORDINATION

The call the priesthood and religious life is a call from God. Your participation with God's call is one that you make with the Church. Ultimately, it is the Church who decides if you have a vocation. This is a blessed call and one of service to the people of God.

The Archdiocese of Perth is blessed to have St Charles Seminary, which since 1942 has trained men for the priesthood.

If you feel called to the priesthood or religious life, if you sense that the work and life of a priest is for you please contact the Vocations Office [insert hyperlink Vocations Office – Archdiocese of Perth (perthcatholic.org.au)]

In the first instance, contact the Vocations Director for an initial conversation. Then, after a period of discernment one may fill out an Expressions of Interest Form (EOI). This in no way guarantees your acceptance into St Charles Seminary. A man discerning priesthood is asked to find and journey with a spiritual director, be free to make this decision (does not have dependents/divorced etc) and is willing to enter and undergo formation.

We look forward to hearing from you!
